Hi everyone and hi admin. I’ve been following this site almost since you started it but never left a comment until now. Just want to say that this is the greatest Super 8 site. With that said this is gonna sound stupid but I am so convinced that I saw the super 8 alien. I really didn’t want to say anything just in case I am right and didn’t want to spoil it for anyone. I could easily be wrong because I am watching from my Droid phone (my computer does not have service right now). I really believe this should be looked into from a computer screen for a better look. I just want someone to tell me what it is that I am seeing. Or should I keep it to myself just in case of spoiler sake? Admin help!!!!!!!!!!
I’m pretty confident that what you’re seeing is not the alien. It’s not like JJ to reveal the big surprise before the movie comes out, so feel free to post what you’ve found.
Actually, admin, I think he might be right. I download the trailer on Apple in 1080p and paused it at 2:02 about two frames before they show the military truck thing (I’m sorry, I don’t know what it’s called) about to explode, and I looked in the area near the main boy’s wrist and I thought I actually saw a part of it: *spoiler alert* a tentacle with an orange glowing ring near the tip. No matter how many times I paused it at that moment, it was still there. I don’t know if I’m seeing things or not. Can someone check it out please?!?
Ok so about a few months ago I found some footage of the movie shoot on YouTube. I don’t have an account so I can’t post the video. But I go to YouTube and search Super 8 Movie Shoot. There is a 20 second video labeled Footage On The Set Of Super 8. I saw it before but just watched it again yesterday and saw something I didn’t see before. The video is of a tank and two military Jeeps driving down a street in a residential neighborhood. The military is fighting a war in this neighborhood. You see some kind of truck pass by with a military soldier standing up shooting immediately followed by an explosion. Right after the explosion (from the same direction as the truck with the soldier) you can see a figure come walking in the same direction. From what I can see this figure has long arms, a giant head, and appears to be slumped over as it walks. It also appears to be as tall the truck that passed before it or a bit taller. I’ve watched this video 100 times over and see the same thing every time. But again, I’m watching from my Droid screen so please look into this and tell me what I am seeing. Oh yeah, another thing you will notice in this video is the military is also shooting into the sky. Thanks admin.
i see what your talking about but its hard to tell exactly what it is, it could be a soldier with a large helmet who could be injured giving him that weird slumping look, however it does look like it is alien with a big head and some distorted body
dude the alien is CGI
Well, although it will be almost entirely CGI, in an interview with Neville Page (the creature designer for Super 8,) Page said, “Because of J.J.’s passion for kind of older filmmaking techniques, I bet you anything there’s gonna be a rubber something or other at some point.”
It’s just that in the first second of the video you can see a soldier pass by in that exact spot and he is no where close to the size of the figure (alien). Also, being that they are shooting in opposite directions makes me believe that there are probably more than one.
Not necessarily, the “details” of the alien might be CGI.
it may be like what they tried with in CLoverfield, having the parasites as puttets(which didnt work out),but the alien(actor) could be in it suit walking around, so the other actors have something to reacte to and actually see

I just went through the theatrical trailer again and didn’t see anything new…
Its on the website I just clicked on it and it led me to the editing room so nothin really new.
I just hypercamed the last part and I will do it frame by frame just to make sure.

Right around were it says click here (2:08) it looks like a military truck gets stuck in a few explosions. Remember this is on the website.
I’ve gone through the HD trailer frame by frame and as far as i can tell there’s nothing new…
