Last night at the 2010 Time 100 Gala at the Time Warner Center, J.J. Abrams confirmed the existence of a super secret trailer attached to prints of Iron Man 2, but he also confirmed that it has nothing to do with Cloverfield. Of course he could be lying, but at this point it's all we have to go on. Here's what he had to say according to Vulture:
"You have to check [out the trailer]," he told us. "But it has nothing whatsoever to do with Cloverfield, despite your expert reporting." So what does it have to do with? "I won’t be able to tell you until it’s done," he said.
So I guess we'll just have to wait and see at midnight tonight when the trailer premieres. Although, it's probably not going to tell us much up front, but at least we'll get some idea of what's going on here. And whether this is a Cloverfield movie or not, it will definitely have some cool viral marketing behind it, so you can be sure to find all the updated news here, so bookmark this page.

so i just found this. A review of the “Super 8” trailer. If this is legit it sounds awesome.

Area 51… I thought those behind Paranormal Activity were gonna do an Area 51 type film… hmmm. Seems to be less connected to Cloverfield now though indeed.
That being said, could be bullshit for all we know for now ha.
Steve: Yeah, Oren Peli (Paranormal Activity) is currently working on a movie called Area 51 and it does sound kind of similar.
“A group of teenagers stumble upon an area in the Nevada desert known for hosting an alien encounter.”
And I’m pretty sure Oren’s is going to be in the same “POV” style that Paranormal Activity is. So we’ll have to see how each of these films comes together in the end…
Ahh that’s his name! I couldn’t for the life of me remember before.
Yeah it does seem odd that two POV style movies based around Area 51 are on the way… Though like I said, this could be bullshit (though it seems legit enough to be fair, currently).
We’re gonna be left guessing as usual with ol’ Abrams for some time to come no doubt.
