TROGL Printout

Looks like there was a new print out posted on the scariest thing I ever saw website in the past few days. To get the printout, move the terminal window out of the way and you will see a dialogue box asking if you want to print. There are a few things of interests in the image and the text that was posted.

Let's take a look at the image first. The obvious thing is that "TROGL" appears in the upper left of the page, which is the same word/letters that appear on one of the ID badges that were discovered a couple weeks ago. There is also a word circled in the text of the book, looks like "binder" to me and then right below that there is a word that is partially crossed out but the remaining letters in the word appear to be "boc". Not sure what, if anything, it means, but usually when things are circled or crossed out, it's not by accident. That's all I noticed about the actual image, but what about the new text.

"3D and 5O's last leg", this is referring to a date on the calendar from the hook, line and minker website and will most likely lead to a new chat dialogue appearing on that date. I can't remember exactly how we determined which date to start at on the calender in order to go 3 Down and 5 Over to determine the date of the chat, but if we go 3 down and 5 over from the date the prinout was posted (December 10th as I was told), that would give us a date of December 26th... Looks like the chat came through on the 16th.

So that's all I've got so far, what have you guys discovered in regards to this latest prinout? Also, could just be a coincidence, but the title of the STIES page is just dashes (-----) but there are 5 dashes, there are 5 letters in TROGL... coincidence? Probably, but maybe not...

Hmm, throw out ideas for what TROGL could stand for?
Also, I thought we just started at the beginning of the month, but i cant remember, guess we’ll see!

  2. marcos says:

has anybody seen this website? http://www.trogl.com/
all it says is “IT WORKS” might be nothing

    • Chirs S. says:

“IT WORKS” is the default index.html file on an apache server. It just indicates that there is nothing on the site. trogl.com is not working at the moment, so I can’t see if it’s changed.

  3. Jason says:

Hey guys, under what appears to be a book in what appears to be an advertisement in what appears to be another book, there is a circled word, I’m gonna go see what that is, and if it leads to anything.

  4. Penguin says:

    @ Jason
    I think it says ” … Each binder holds 12 … ”
    and binder is circled.

    • Jason says:

Yeah, thats what I got too.

I’m sure I’m just repeating information, but Trogl in greek means underground.

Sound familiar? (no certainty if a live we may go *underground*)

  5. DemonG says:

Ok so this is what happened. Josh dad sent him the book marking the page with the word trogl . Leaving words highlighted that will possibly lead Josh to a new clue to finding his dad or to things his dad knew or have .

The id with the word trogl will most likely be the one of Josh dad and it was indented for Josh to know and find .

Its funny cause Josh knows someythings and mr mesterio knows the other half and together they can find what they’re looking for.

But this is just the way I see it .

  6. Andrew says:

couldn’t trogl just be short for troglodyte…

  7. Pokey says:

Wait wouldn’t the next event be on the 29th?

  8. Mr. Y.W. says:

3D & 5O, start at the top of the December calendar, the week of Wed, 1st – Sat, 4th is 1D. 3D will be the third week Sun, 12th – Sat, 18th. 5O is five days Over. December 16th. Last leg = 8:03PM Eastern Time.

  9. Mr. Y.W. says:

I hope a new chat happens on Dec. 16th, regular updates would be nice.

The partially crossed out word is “backbone”, the remaining letters are either “bac” or “back”.

  10. cul8r says:

Maybe this is a clue to the next password of a chat…. “backbinder” maybe? By the way trogl is a chat program on android phones….

  11. Shayan says:

OMG! I think I might have discovered something. On the book it says “Classics Illustrated” I did some research and its a book company that has all the classic books like Frankenstein, Call of the Wild, Dracula ect. If we find the right book, it could lead to something!!!!

  12. Hey guys, haven’t been on for a while, anyway: TROGL eh? I don’t think that advertisement has anything to do with the viral. Maybe contains a message like the newspaper articles. I see binder is circled. Maybe his father wrote it in relationship to the other TROGL on the IDs. He wrote it to:
    remember it
    message to his son
    code for something.

Obviously the unknown man told Josh to go back to the chat. So we’ll have to wait for them to chat…

I thought he stole this book from the library when he was a kid.
This all relates to his first posting in the coelacanth journal:

When I was little, I stole a book from the library. It was a Classics Illustrated #5 Moby Dick and I searched four different libraries to find it (don’t tell anyone – not sure how the laws of prosecution work). I still have it on my bookshelf, even though the cover fell off years ago. It’s not the only reason I love fish (though I read it about 20 times that summer) but I thought it an appropriate way to introduce my own “Moby Dick”.

Kingdom: Animalia. Phylum: Chordata. Class: Sarcoptergii. Subclass: Actinistia. Order: Coelacanthiformes, also known as THE COELACANTH. Named after its hollow spine, this beauty was thought to be extinct until the 1930’s. Scary, I know. They’re still incredibly rare – but every few years one appears at the surface for some lucky observer.

And that is where I come in. Unlike Captain Ahab, I’m not hunting my fish because it bit off my arm or leg or anything. I’m not some grandstanding environmentalist either. I just want to help the Coelacanth survive. Seems weird to live in a world without them.

Anyway, hopefully this journal will chronicle my success. Stay tuned!

    …any thoughts

  15. Jason says:

Great job everyone! I couldn’t really work on finding the ad (been very busy) so I check in for a minute and lo and behold, the full page ad and some new theories to investigate!

  16. Chris H says:

OK, so I’m very new to all this, but when I click on STIES site, I only get a box that says “Error 302 This device not supported for remote access”. How do you guys find these links on the page?

  17. Garrett says:

I could be a little off subject here and i apologize for that, but has anyone found out what the “device” is on STIES? And if i am off subject where do i need to go to discuss this???

  18. xano50 says:

this is what i think the device is in the trailer after the car hits the train when the the crash stops while the camera is zooming in on the cart you see a computer on the ground mabye the computer is the device.

  19. Sebastian says:

OK somebody here asked if “TROGL” was short for Troglodyte… So i hit google to see what it meant… And i Found this movie poster from another “monster movie”… Heres the link:
    http://www.freshwap.net/forums/movies/756174-troglodyte-stv-r5-xvidlap.html
I know its not related in any kind but i thought it might be interresting…

  20. C9URK says:

Just watched the trailer for that film on IMDB. It’s like Predator’s cousin who lives in the sea lol like u said nothing to do with super 8

  21. A-rizzle says:

There’s also a blogger on democraticunderground.com named TrogL. Not related, I just found it interesting how many websites have those 5 letters put together in them. I believe that the whole “underground” theory is the right track. We’ll just have to see. You remember the newspaper printout thing from the beginning , “may be after us, we go Underground”.

  22. SnorlackJack says:

It seems like there is a lot going on that day. Heard on the web that majestic 12 official documents will be leaked… just saying….

    • Janesmith says:

Ahh yeah MJ12… wont that be interesting. Wiki will cleanse your mind of illusion =)

The human body is in itself is a universe of life, I don’t understand how people walk around with that in themselves and still think were alone out here.

Hey guys, when I hit .REENTER at STIES it ask for DEVICE?

Hey Guys There Is A Update On STIES Right Now Is A Photo

  25. Xposure86 says:

i just found out that on hook line and minker there is an referal to the classics illustrated.
because josh is talking about stealing a classics illustrated from the library, and it is #5 moby dick, after reading that i looked at the print-out again and noticed that the page next to the add is for Moby dick,
    ( http://www.hooklineandminker.com/?p=14 )
and i thought maybe to search lgort instead of trogl, and i found some stuff about sap i dont understand…….

i hope someone can make more from what i found.

  26. Xposure86 says:

sorry for the double post didn’t read it al

  27. Joe McAwesome says:

i was thinking that maybe the last 2 letters in TROGL stand for Groom Lake, considering of course that the movie is related to area 51, then again maybe not, i have no idea it just popped into my head.

  28. Trogl is latin for “Cave Dweller”…just sayin’

  29. Jeremy says:

i have found out that you can enter a password by clicking the arrow
in the bottom left corner then clicking the chat icon but im stuck there
    HELP!!!!

  30. jake says:

    trogl: latin meaning cave dweller

The chat revealed that Josh’s dad is a biospeleologist, or someone who studies cave dwelling organisms.

  31. elonca1 says:

In one of the conversations between Josh and the mysterious guy, he mentions Josh’ dad was a “biospeleologist”-a cave biologist. And TROGL is the Greek root word for hole or cave e.g. troglodyte is a caveman, troglobyte is a cave animal.

Could the creature not be an alien, but a cave creature? Could that mysterious zooming rock be powered by that “energy source” also referenced in the blogs and chats?

It could be similar to Cloverfield’s backstory-company/government searches deep cave/deep sea for energy source/chemical for Slosho thingy and disturbs a creature?
